My litlle one does not want a diaper on any more she pulls at it and cry when she uses it. She is only 14 month old. Has anyone else potty trained a baby? She will go #1 and #2 when put on a training seat. She cant get her clothes off, training pants are to big, she can’t even sit on the seat her self. Help.
if shes ready then let her do it. buy one of those little pottys so she can sit on it herself. so what if you have to help her take her clothes off
I’m really not sure but I do know that there is one with Bear in the Big Blue house. My daughter loved it.
everyone keeps telling me to look for signs that my son is ready to start potty training before i start. But i’m not sure if he’s ready or not. Some days he’ll grab his potty and bring it to the living room, pulls his diaper off and sits on it… sometimes he goes sometimes he gets up and pees on the floor next to it. If he isn’t near the potty he brings me a diaper and wipes when it’s time for a change. Than again some times when I try to get him to use the potty he throws a temper tantrum. Should I wait a couple months or should I keep trying? I really don’t want to push him into it and have him not want to use it. And if I should continue with the potty training are there any suggestions on how to "bribe" him to do it? I’ve been doing a potty chart but he doesn’t understand that and I don’t want to give him a cookie every time he goes. Please help!! Thank you.
It sounds like he is interested, but not quite there yet for potty training. Keep letting him use his potty as he feels comfortable to do so, and give him a little treat (m&m or gummy bear, or whatever else). Give it a couple months, and he will probably show more interest over time, and then you can start sitting him on the potty regularly
My daughter got the Boon potty bench for a christmas gift from her MiMi, and I have been trying to sit her on it to just play and get used to the idea. Not like sitting her on it no diaper or anything, but just sitting on it. I was looking for a smaller one for when she first starts since she’s very petitte and the Boon opening is pretty large, like she’ll totally fall in. But when I was reading the reviews a lot of people were saying about using it with their 4 month olds and stuff. I am all for getting rid of diapers ASAP, but can a baby actually get trained that young, like before a year? Also is this a good potty to start her on now? I know I was trained by 1 1/2 becuase my mom and dad used to just sit me on it starting around 10-11 months. So that was what I plan to do. I just need a smaller seat until she is big enough for the Boon one. Also if you have it, is the Boon a good model? Should I have started her at 4 months? I feel soo behind now.
I dont believe that it isnt possible to have a trained 1 1/2 year old because both me and my brother were. As well as my mom and her brother. My mom did the same with us that my grandmom did for them. If you start getting a baby 10-11 months to sit on the potty and when they go make a huge deal of it and do this 1-2 times a day to start and then increase it over the weeks and months, they can be 100% potty trained by 1 1/2. They still might have night time accidents. People think you cant potty train before 2 because they are too lazy to do what it takes to get their child potty trained. Now because of all the laziness most people dont even think about trying to train a 10-11 month old because they believe it isnt possible.
I use the baby Bjorn potty and have had her peeing in it since she was 5 months old. Every time she wakes up, I take her to her potty right away and away she goes. You will need to make a SHHH sound or even sit on the toilet yourself and make a tinkle, she will soon the idea. Your not behind, just take your time, don’t force the situation and soon it will be fun.
I’ve heard of mums’ potty training girls in a week. Has anyone done this and if so, how? Did you get tips from a book?
I just don’t know where to start!
Thanks in advance.
I don’t know of a book, but the Dr Phil website use to have information on potty training that was great!
Good luck!
