My daughter is 18 months, weighs 22.8 pounds— she’s not ready to potty train, we use cloth diapers and she is about 5-8 pounds away from growing out of them, and I was just thinking if I should start stashing up on larger sizes. How much did your child weigh when they were potty training?

My 2 1/2 year old weighs 34 pounds right now. That’s a little above average for his age. We’ve been working on potty training for awhile, but aren’t there yet . . .sigh.

In desperate need to teach my 2 year and 8 months old to go potty before entering pre-school in Sept. Been trying for 2 months now and not clicking with him…tried several ways and this is the way that is left…he is into TV so this might work easier for him.
I mean my son is 2 yrs 8 months..not 8 months old lol

Honey you don’t need those videos that is a waste of your money This maybe ghetto but it worked I let my 11 month old run around the house butt naked (if you don’t have carpet) and every time she pissed I would tap her hand and tell her no and tell her to use the potty two weeks later potty trained.during the day at night I stopped giving her stuff to drink late then she was potty trained at night . Play games with them like hand washing song treat them when they go. Good luck :)

i got my daughter a potty for christmas. she was 15 months. she started using the potty right awAY. by 19 months she was going around 8 times a day everyday. now she just turned 2 a few weeks ago and all of the sudden she wants nothing to do with the potty. i was doing potty chart and stickers and now she wants nothing to do with potty training. any ideas what i should do?

This is normal, especially around age two. At that age, kids are growing up and they want to be in control. Try not to make a big deal about it, because if she sees that it is bothering you, she will do it more to get a reaction. Try giving her a choice when it is "potty time" such as, "Do you want to use the little potty or the big toilet?" Or take her to the store and let her pick out one of those potty seats that sits on top of the toilet seat. The novelty of a new item might do if for you, too. Good luck!

My daughter is almost 2 and a 1/2 . she is in pull ups and she will go and sit on her training seat somtimes. She doesnt actually go shell just sit there and read a book. Can anyone give me any tips or advise on potty traing?

I think I just answered the other posting of yours but in case it wasn’t your question, I’ll tell you what worked for my daughter. She just loves The Potty Stool http://www.thepottystool.com I started by just setting it at the toilet. This stool makes every toilet kid-sized. My kids immediately climbed up on this stool and discovered that they could safely and securely use the toilet. This got them very interested in using the toilet and they were potty trained very quickly.

The handles and sides make all the difference! My son and daughter felt very secure and the sides makes them feel comfortable and closed in when they use the toilet.

I like that I don’t have to double the steps of potty training by training them first in a potty and then training them to stop using a potty. And not dumping and cleaning a potty each time is great. The best thing is that kids use it for years. I hope this helps you

My sister hasnt had half the problems i do.

In general, boys tend to take a little longer than girls, but it really depends on the child, their personality, and how they’re developing. Don’t stress about it, and just roll with it, and keep trying, until your little one gets the hang of it too. The less you stress about it, the easier it will be for your little one =)
