My baby is 7 weeks old now. Just wondering. Coz I have noticed her pattern of diaper change. Can it be used to potty train. since I know her timings are roughly one hour after a feed, she needs a diaper change…..

yes, you can start to respond to your babies cues! lots of new parents are starting to do what they do in other cultures, and it has been called Elimination Communication or Natural Infant Hygene.

i’ve been doing EC with my 13 week old boy since birth, and it’s great.

here’s an article and a video on it

all the best,
jenny

my daughter is 2 years old and very brilliant and active. i wanna start pooty training for her. shes been using pot and toilet seats for some time but she never tells me herself she wanna pee or poo but tells me when shes done. now i have bought POTTY TRAINING SEAT AND STOOL for her, but how do i guess if shes ready to wee or poo.. how do i make her tell me that she wana use toilet and the main question that i wanna ask is If I wanna make her sit myself on the toilet seat time to time, how much should be the gap between every time i do that and do i have to remove her nappy while training her?
im really desperate to do that because i know she can do that as shes quite forward for her age and i want her to pick this soon. i am going on holidays after 2 months and i want her to get trained before that. ive heard people saying kids can b potty trained within few days or weeks… NEED TIPS FROM YOU ALL plssss..

thanks

Kids who are READY to be potty trained can be trained within days or weeks — if she isn’t ready, it will take much longer and be painful for you both. If she isn’t able to sense when she needs to go or warn you about it, then she isn’t ready. In the meantime, just keep working with her to develop the skills and language she needs so that when her body is ready, she’ll be easily able to communicate that to you.

What do you think is the best way to potty train a girl?

my daughter was potty train just after she turned 2. what i did was i would take her with me to use the potty. i would show her how a big girl uses the big girl potty. and show her that mommy wears big girl underwear and not diapers. then i would offer her the big girl potty each time. about 2 weeks later she actually used to potty. i figured she would learn better if she saw mommy using the potty. i did not use a small potty for her (i bought her one she just never used it) or pull ups. i also let her pick out a couple packs of underwear for herself. we only used rewards when it came to pooping in the potty. hope this helps :)

This is George on day 23 of her training. Training is going very well. She is still having a few “accidents” but they are far and few between.

My daughter is nearly 4 and potty trained since 2 and 3 quarters years she has been using her training seat at home & normal toilet seats when out… Until 2 weeks ago
She refuses to wee unless she has her training seat and has had 3 accidents now I have started taking her seat with us but don’t really want to be encouraging her We have a new 5 weeks old baby so understand he may have caused this – please help with any suggestions

I think you have to just put up with it for a while and understand that she has backslided a bit because of the new baby. Go along with it for a while and rather than punish her, start encouraging her to be the ‘big sister’ by using the regular toilet seat again. I know it is hard, but at least she will go as long as she uses the training seat. She could have backslided even further to wanting to use diapers again, so just try to deal with it for a while and she will readjust back to her proper habits soon.

What you’ll find in this app:

I LOVE POTTY TRAINING INTERACTIVE EBOOK (Boy’s & Girl’s Versions)
POTTY TRACKER & GREAT JOB REWARD BUTTON
POTTY DROP GAME
POTTY TRAINING TIPS & ADVICE
AUTO EMAIL DIPLOMA
ENGLISH & SPANISH BOOK VERSIONS

I LOVE POTTY TRAINING INTERACTIVE EBOOK:
(one for boys, one for girls)

Joy Berry’s bestselling potty training books are now interactive eBooks to help your child learn to use the potty and lessen fears around it. The books are narrated by children and feature fully animated and interactive scenes showcasing the potty and how to handle using it. Each book features a main character and a cute kitten or puppy mascot that speaks when touched.

POTTY TRACKER & GREAT JOB REWARD BUTTON:
The daily potty tracking tool allows you to track and view your child’s progress as he or she learns to master the potty. Start by entering the day/date you begin potty training, then drag and drop a sticker each time your child uses the potty. Choose “pee” or “poop” respectively. Save results and view them by day, week, total, and average per day.

Access the Great Job button from the tracker or main menu. You child will love to press the button and hear their doing a “Great Job” (with applause).

POTTY DROP GAME:
OOPS! That doesn’t go in the potty! Have loads of fun teaching your toddler what can and cannot go into the toilet with Potty Drop.

How To Play:
Objects fall from above and players must catch only what belongs in the potty. Watch the “green/good” meter go up as toilet paper drops successfully into the potty, and watch it go down as other objects such as hamburgers and tricycles drop in by mistake. WATCH OUT! Too many “bad” objects and the potty will overflow!
Tilt your iPhone side to side to slide the potty back and forth at the bottom of the screen. When the green/good meter is full, you WIN.

TIPS & ADVICE:
The advice section in this app is based on Joy Berry’s bestselling potty training books and kits. In the books you’ll find everything from getting started to safety around the potty.

EMAIL DIPLOMA:
When potty training is complete (typically when diapers are no longer needed or the child goes consistently in the potty), simply press: “We’re Done, SEND DIPLOMA” on the tracking screen. This will prompt you to enter information so the Potty Training Diploma can be E-mailed to you. Print it out and display it proudly! Please note, you’ll need an Internet connection and have mail configured on your device.

We are starting to potty train our two-year old and my biggest "fear" is public restrooms. Has the traveling/folding potty seat worked for anyone? How do you store it? In the diaper bag?

I just keep a regular potty chair in the back of our van because I take my daughter to the park a lot and often the bathrooms there are locked. She is 3 now so she is getting better at holding it but I like to be safe. I just put a plastic bag into the bowl part of the potty seat, so when she goes I just take that out and throw it away and insert a new one. I just use grocery bags.
