what are some great ways to getting my 18 month old little girl potty trained?
We just started our son about a week ago and he has a Baby Bjorn potty and he is able to sit on it all on his own and it is a good size for him. Here is a link with pretty much what we are doing with him… http://raisingrocco.wordpress.com/category/potty-training/ He has been making great progress. The beginning of the week he had a lot of accidents, but he now will go and sit on the potty all by himself and pee, get up and pull the insert out and proudly walk with us to the big toilet and dump it in there. Today was his first day in underwear (we decided to have him go naked to make it easier to get him on the potty when needed), we put him in them halfway through the day and he kept them dry all the rest of the day. When he would go to sit on the potty we would help him with them. We haven’t had to use candy or anything like that and so far so good! He loves it, yesterday and today is when he has really caught on. Way easier than I thought it would be. He will be 18 months on the 25th of this month.

Take her to the bathroom when you go. Take her and sit her on the potty every 45mins and just see if she will go. Take her to pick out her own big girl panties. Get a toilet ring so she can potty on the big potty. Get her excited about going potty and praise her when she goes.

You can follow following steps:
1) Identify the time when she usually do potty
2) Get right size potty (May be potty which fits on toilet or which does not fit)
3) Motivate her to seat on potty by giving her favourite toys or any other way.
If she seats there for some time regularly slowly and gradually she will learn to use it regularly.
